1. Real-world test: 38-foot Hercules with ten B48 battery modules.
2. Measured at 7 knots using a 16” three-blade Flexofold folding propeller.
3. Compared with a conventional fixed saildrive. Actual performance depends on vessel configuration and conditions.
Searine is proud to answer your questions before you ask them.
It depends on your power source, but typically anywhere from overnight to under two hours.Standard Shore Power (110V/220V): Plugs directly into standard marina slips or home outlets and fully tops up the battery bank overnight (8 to 10 hours).
The range depends on several factors, including the number of batteries installed, your yacht’s size and weight, and your speed through the water. Just like with any propulsion system, higher speeds require more energy.
With the right battery configuration, several Searine-powered yachts achieve more than 80 nautical miles of range—equivalent to over 16 hours of cruising at 5 knots. Every installation is tailored to the yacht, ensuring the battery capacity matches your sailing needs.
Yes. The system is designed to fit many sailboats currently equipped with a saildrive from brands such as Volvo Penta and Yanmar, making installation straightforward.
Yes. The Searine M360° features intelligent hydrogeneration, allowing the propeller to generate electricity while you’re under sail and extend your range.
At a boat speed of 7 knots, the system can generate up to 1,500 W of charging power, continuously recharging your batteries while you sail.
We use LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry, which is inherently much more stable and less prone to thermal runaway than the lithium-ion batteries found in phones or cars.
